CLASS – How to Can Food Using the Water Bath & Pressure Canning Methods
Approximately 3 hour hands-on class where participants learn both methods of canning according to USDA methods. Water bath and pressure canning will be covered. Students will also be able to see different styles of pressure canners (stove-top vs. new electric canners), different styles of canning lids and jars and learn what the benefits are to each. We will can both tomatoes and green beans and discuss which method is required for each and why. We will also discuss reading and safely reaching gauge pressure and other safe canning practices.
