Spring & Summer 2017
Medicinal Wild Plants of Central NC – (Dates TBD Spring 2017)
Nature is abundant with medicine in the form of plants growing all around us. Plant medicine has been used for centuries and many of the pharmaceuticals we know today have their “roots” in natural remedies that were once commonplace. Learn how to correctly identify and harvest several common medicinal wild plants native to Central North Carolina, what their natural habitats are, and techniques for naturalizing them to your yard. This class will be hands-on and participants should bring note taking materials and wear comfortable, weather appropriate, walking attire. A copy of Peterson’s Field Guide to Wildflowers is highly recommended for class, but not required. ISBN-10: 0395911729 or ISBN-13: 978-0395911723.
